Tamim Iqbal is the first in the history of BPL to reach the milestone of 3000 runs. He achieved this feat with a single off Nasum Ahmed in the 11th over against Khulna Tigers on Monday (January 22).
No batsman in BPL could touch the milestone of 3000 runs.
Tamim needed 35 runs to reach 3000 runs today. This record was seen in the opening for Fortune Barisal. Khulna Tigers bowler Nasum took a single and it was fulfilled. Mushfiqur Rahim is behind Tamim in the race of 3000 runs.
Tamim and Mushfiqur’s run fight in BPL is nothing new. Mushfiqur entered the Hazari club as the first cricketer in the fourth season of BPL in 2016. Then Mahmudullah touched the same milestone. Tamim was the third batsman of Ek Hazari club.
However, in 2019, Tamim entered the club of 2000 as the first batsman after Mushfiqur in the 7th season. The most interesting thing is that all the three cricketers who are in the list of highest run scorers of BPL are simultaneously scoring BPL in this season.
