About 16,000 women and children have been killed so far in Israel’s attack on the Palestinian-besieged Gaza. According to a report by the United Nations Women’s Organization, an average of two mothers are killed every hour in the Palestinian territories.
Gender equality organization UN Women said in their report on Friday (January 19) that women and girls in the region are deprived of security, healthcare and shelter. They now spend their days ‘facing imminent starvation and famine’.
According to the UN report, the number of women and girls among the total casualties of Israeli attacks is at the front, about 70 percent.
10,000 children have lost their fathers in Gaza since the start of the Israeli attack on Gaza on October 7. One million women and girls are among the displaced.
The organization’s executive director, Sima Bahous, said in a statement, “These 100 days and the number of deaths inflicted on the Palestinian people will haunt the next generation as well.”
He added, “No matter how much we mourn the plight of women and girls in Gaza today, tomorrow we will mourn the end of humanitarian aid and destruction and killing.”
It should be noted that at least 24 thousand 762 Palestinians have been killed so far in the Israeli attack. 62 thousand 108 people were injured. Besides, thousands of people are missing.
