Ajman has announced a ban on the use of single-use plastic bags in the emirate from January 2024.
Ajman Municipality announced the decision to ban the use of single-use plastic bags in all shopping centers and outlets in the emirate. The decision will come into effect from January 2024.
The law comes in compliance with Ministerial Decision No. (380) of 2022 on the Regulation of Single-Use Products in the State Market and Federal Law No. (2) of 2018 on Integrated Waste Management, and as part of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the UAE has banned plastic bags.
