Media plays an important role in the success of development strategies, said His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
He said this on the occasion of hosting the second edition of the “1 Billion Followers Summit” in the UAE on January 10 and 11, 2024. The summit is the world’s premier gathering for content creators and creators, with the theme “Get Connected”.
Sheikh Mohammed added, the media is a major contributor to creating an intellectual and cultural movement in society through its ability to develop targeted content suited to the orientations and interests of different social and age groups.
“The 1 Billion Followers Summit consolidates the UAE’s position as a global platform for digital content creation and represents a qualitative leap in the development and advancement of this promising sector, in a way that enhances the UAE’s global profile and positively impacts the wider media scene. ” said the ruler of Dubai.
Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi welcomed the top influencers and content creators who are attending the summit, ensuring that the UAE had and remains the best environment to keep pace with developments in the media and digital content creation sector. .
The “1 Billion Followers Summit”, organized by the New Media Academy at the Emirates Towers and Museum of the Future in Dubai, brought together 7,000 participants, including more than 3,000 content creators, influencers and more than 1.6 billion followers. The summit will feature 190 speakers from 200 media content production companies, 100 digital production companies, 100 CEOs and the world’s most renowned digital content creators, who will present more than 100 diverse events including 15 inspirational lectures, 20 workshops, 25 panels. Discussions, 15 fireside chats, 4 debates, and 20 on-ground activations through summits.
