Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in northern Queensland, Australia. Authorities believe that the flood could take a more severe form. Thousands of people have been evacuated due to flooding. Apart from this, many others are trapped.

According to a report, hundreds of people have been rescued, many houses have been submerged due to flooding, power lines have been cut and roads have also been submerged. There is a shortage of fresh water.
Cairns has recorded 2m of rain since the bad weather began. Queensland Premier Steven Miles said natural disasters are expected to be the worst.
