The United Nations children’s agency UNICEF has condemned the restrictions imposed by Israeli forces on the delivery of relief supplies to the besieged Gaza Strip. According to the organization, this blockade amounts to the execution of the children of Gaza.
UNICEF Middle East and North Africa Regional Director Adili Khodor said . At the same time, he presented the terrible picture of the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Adili Khodar said, Our team members on the ground described meeting children with missing limbs and severely burned children. They say the children are rendered speechless by the constant attacks around them.
Referring to the terrible aggression of the occupying Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip and the effects of massacres and sieges, this UNICEF official said that about one million children there have become refugees due to the war.
They are forced to live in small tents or crowded places. Most of them do not have basic food, water or protection. In this situation, they are facing the risk of various infectious and water-borne diseases every moment.
The official said Israel is allowing a small amount of aid to be delivered to the Gaza Strip, far below what is needed. In addition, the situation has become more dire due to continued Israeli bombings and fuel shortages.
He said the only solution to this situation is to implement a long-term ceasefire and this needs to be done urgently to stop the suffering of children and civilians in Gaza.
