Regular Israeli infantry and armored units have joined ground operations in southern Lebanon. This information was given by the country’s military on Wednesday (October 2). However, despite sending new troops, Tel Aviv has claimed that their military operation against Hezbollah will be limited and at a local level.
Israel announced the first ground operation in Lebanon on Tuesday (October 2). They then reported that their commando and paratroop units had entered Lebanon.
Israel then said its special forces units had been involved in ground operations against Hezbollah targets across the border for months. At the same time they discovered tunnels and weapons caches under the house.
The Israeli military said today that its 36th Division’s infantry and armored forces have entered southern Lebanon. These include Golani Brigade, 188th Armored Brigade and 6th Infantry Brigade. This means that despite Israel’s talk of a limited ground operation, their operation has gone beyond a limited commando operation.
