This nostalgic model sold 250 million units in just 6 years from 2003. In the second position is the model 1110 of the same organization; Which sold 248 million units. No one has been able to break such a record of selling Nokia phones till today.
iPhone, Nokia E series, Samsung of South Korea and Motorola of the US are also in the list of best selling mobile phones. However, 18 of the top 20 best-selling mobile phones of all time are held by Nokia and Apple’s iPhone models. Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are the highest selling smartphones. Which amounts to 222 million units. Due to the peak of popularity, the phone came back to the market in 2017 with a slightly reduced price.
Nokia’s market declined in Europe and Asia due to deregulation of the telecom market. As a result, the US Apple, Google and Samsung took its place. But Nokia did not give up. HMD Global has bought the company and is making the new Android by revamping the previous model.
