The visa exemption policy is designed to enhance Armenia’s appeal as an accessible country.
Armenia is known for its fascinating history and culture, breathtaking landscapes.Armenia has officially opened its borders to citizens and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, granting them visa-free access for short stays of up to 90 days.
This new policy, effective July 1, 2025, aims to significantly boost Armenia’s appeal as a readily accessible and inviting destination in the South Caucasus.
The visa exemption applies to travelers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. This move is expected to foster stronger tourism ties and make it easier for individuals from the GCC to explore Armenia’s rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cities.
90 days stay without visa
Under the new rules, all passport holders from GCC countries may travel to Armenia for tourism, leisure, or business without the need for a visa, for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
“Furthermore, the exemption is extended to individuals who hold valid residency permits from any GCC member state, given that these permits remain valid for a minimum of six months from their arrival date in Armenia. This significantly broadens access for the large expatriate community residing in the Gulf region.”
Growing interest among GCC nationals
The timing of the decision coincides with a growing interest among GCC nationals and residents in exploring nearby destinations that offer authentic experiences, diverse cultures, and unique natural beauty.
With its rich historical heritage, scenic landscapes, and vibrant culinary scene, Armenia presents itself as an ideal destination to attract increasing numbers of tourists and business visitors from the Gulf.
