The attack was carried out at a time when diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran were underway. As a result, it is an expression of Israel’s hostile attitude towards diplomatic efforts.
A top Turkish official has clearly called Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iran a “barbarity” and an “unjustified aggression.”
“This Israeli attack has no legitimacy. It is simply a barbaric attack,” said Ömer Çelik, a spokesman for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s ruling AK Party.
He made the comments in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. Çelik also alleged that the attack was planned to divert attention from international criticism of the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza. In his words, “This is a misleading tactic.”
He said the attack was carried out at a time when diplomatic talks were underway between the United States and Iran. As a result, it is a manifestation of Israel’s hostile attitude towards diplomatic efforts.
Turkey’s stance highlights the continuity of diplomatic reactions amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia strongly condemns Iran, calling it a ‘brother’
Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned Israel’s recent attacks on Iranian soil and nuclear facilities.
In a statement on Friday (June 13), the Saudi Foreign Ministry said, “Saudi Arabia strongly protests and condemns Israel’s barbaric attack on the brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran.”
The statement also said that Israel’s attack is a gross violation of Iran’s sovereignty and is against international laws and regulations.
The Saudi ministry called on the UN Security Council, saying, “The Security Council must take immediate and effective action to stop Israel’s repeated attacks.”
