A statement was issued by the organization after the death of Ismail Haniya, head of the Palestinian independence organization Hamas. Hamas said Ismail Haniya was killed in a Zionist attack.
Ismail Haniyar was killed on Wednesday morning. According to television news, Ismail Hania and one of his bodyguards were killed in the attack in the capital Tehran.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards then issued a statement announcing the death of a top Hamas leader. However, no details about how he was killed have been mentioned.
“Brother, leader, mujahid and head of the movement Ismail Haniya was killed in a Zionist attack on his headquarters in Tehran,” Hamas’ statement said. Earlier, he attended the swearing-in ceremony of the new president of Iran.

Haniya visited the country last April for talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In the same month, Haniya’s three sons, Hazem, Amir and Muhammad Ismail, and at least three of her grandchildren were killed in an Israeli attack on Gaza.
