Climate and environment activist Greta Thunberg has been arrested by Swiss police. He was reportedly arrested for participating in pro-Palestinian protests.
The arrests were made on Saturday near the venue of the Eurovision final in the southern Swiss city of Malmo.
It was reported that Greta Thunberg participated in the protest against Israel’s participation in the Eurovision contest. At that time he was arrested.
In a video shared on social media X, Thunberg was seen wearing a keffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian headscarf in black and white.
Russia was banned from the Eurovision contest due to the attacks in Ukraine. But angry people reportedly took part in the protest in the city of Malmo, protesting that an Israeli contestant accused of genocide in Gaza was given the chance to take part in the competition.
At that time, several protesters suddenly started protesting with Palestinian flags outside the Eurovision final venue, and the police arrested them and forcibly removed them.
Earlier this week, more than 10,000 people demonstrated in support of Palestine in the city of Malmö ahead of the Eurovision semi-finals.
