This time there was an air attack on the military base of the Iraqi state-owned para-militia forces. One soldier of the Popular Mobilization Forces was killed and 6 others were injured in the attack.
The attack took place late last night on Friday (April 19) local time. A huge explosion was heard.
The Popular Mobilization Force troops stationed in an army base called Kalso, located 50 kilometers south of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, were bombed from the air.
Sources of the Iraqi security forces said that the attack was carried out from an aircraft. In this attack, one soldier of the Popular Mobilization Forces was killed and 6 others were injured. The injured were taken to a hospital in the local city of Hila.
The Popular Mobilization Forces said in a statement, “The explosion caused material damage and casualties.” A team committee has been formed to investigate this incident.
Two sources, who did not wish to be named, said it was not known who was responsible for the airstrike. However, the United States has denied responsibility for the attack. A US official stationed in Iraq said, “There was no US military activity in Iraq.”
