It has been raining continuously for several days in different parts of the desert country of Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, the country’s Meteorological Department has said that from today Friday to next Tuesday (April 2), heavy rainfall will continue in most areas of the country, including thunderstorms and lightning.
According to the report of the local weather organization Arabia Weather, the General Directorate of Civil Defense in the capital Riyadh has given such a forecast in a warning on Thursday (March 28). Residents have been advised to stay out of their homes for these five days.
Areas likely to experience rain and thunderstorms are the Holy City of Makkah, Al-Jumun, Al-Kamil, Bahra, Khulais, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Adriat, Tarbah, Raniyah, Al-Mu’ah and Al-Khurmah. Apart from this, there may be rain in various areas including Riyadh, Madinah, Jazan, Al-Baha and Tabuk. However, several areas including Jeddah in Makkah may experience strong winds.
Earlier last week, heavy rains caused flooding in Saudi Arabia. Red alert was issued in several cities including Makkah, Madinah and Tabuk due to the situation. Educational institutions in several cities, including the capital Riyadh, were declared closed.
According to the report, heavy rainfall has occurred in Qasim, Hafar Al Batin and several areas around it, including the capital Riyadh. Classes in schools, colleges and universities in these areas have been suspended.
The report also said that on Friday (March 29), there may be heavy hailstorm in the Afif desert region of Saudi Arabia. Snow may start soon after. And that can cover the desert. Which can take the form of a carpet of white snow.
