Bangladesh U-19 women’s team is performing well in tri-nation series at home. The hosts confirmed the final after a hat-trick win. The red-green representatives continued their winning streak by defeating Pakistan by 4 wickets in the fourth match.
Bangladesh won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat at Cox’s Bazar Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (January 31).
Batting, the visitors gave the hosts an easy target of 96 runs. Coming down to reply, Sumaiya army reached the port of victory with 18 balls and 4 wickets in hand.
Bangladesh lost wickets in the beginning while chasing an easy target. Sumaiya Akhtar Subarna was trapped leg before after scoring zero runs from 5 balls.
After that another opener Eva returned to Sajghar with a personal 14 runs. However, captain Sumaiya Akhtar led the team to victory by scoring 38 runs from 40 balls. Apart from this, Ira played an innings of 16 runs. In the end, Bangladesh won with 18 balls and 4 wickets in hand.
Earlier, after losing the toss and going into bat, the team broke the opening pair after 15 runs, but Pakistan turned around for the second wicket. But the run rate was like Test cricket.
Meanwhile, the visitors lost four more wickets to add only 4 runs to the scoreboard from the team’s 88. Out of which there were three run outs. In the end, Pakistan girls got a fighting capital of 95 runs after losing 5 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Samia Afsar played the highest innings of 48 runs from 58 balls for the visitors. Apart from this, Aresha Ansari scored 26 runs against 41 balls. Rabeya Khatun took two wickets for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka girls in the title fight on February 2.
