Tamannaah, a singer who has performed domestically and abroad, recently met this reporter to talk about her music career. In a long conversation, he said that music is the beginning of life.
Currently, Tamanna Haque is popular as a singer but she was supposed to be an actress. At one time she acted in stage plays with the aim of becoming an actress. In this context, he said, I used to do theater as a child. Learned acting from actress Rokeya Prachi Ma’am and acted in several stage plays. I also acted in some TV dramas. I acted in a few plays including Bonful’s Song, Paush Phagun’s Pala. Even though I was acting, sometimes I used to sing songs.
Apart from acting, Tamanna also trained in dance from Bangladesh Shishu Academy. But due to busy studies, he had to leave acting and dancing at one point. Tamanna dives into the vast ocean of musical rhythms after preparing the lessons a little. He said, in 2015, I started learning music from Ustad Nasir Chowdhury. Apart from him, in 2017 he started studying music again with Ustad Nasir Chowdhury after training with Ustad Abu Saeed Biswas. Then I started stage performance as a musician for the first time on August 11, 2017 through Ustadji.
Tamanna said, the first audio album of her singing was released from Sangeeta banner in the year after the start of the stage show. The name of the album was ‘I wrote a letter’. Lyricist and composer was Iqbal Khan from Kolkata, music director was Khayem Ahmed. Notable albums of songs sung by Tamanna include Dotana Maan, Am Bandhu Tomar Achi, Ei Buke Thakho, Maya Laga, Dhak Dhak Kare, Sweet Paan, Mention Yog. Tamanna said that she has sung 50 original songs so far. He then started playback of the film.
Talking about playback of films, Tamannaah said, “My first playback was in Mahbooba Shahreen Mitu’s ‘Isaakhan’ produced by SG Productions. It was directed by Dayal Rahman. Actress Apu Biswas lent her voice to her song. DA Taib was the hero in the film. I have also done playback in films named Deh Tari, Narpishach, Dost Dushman, Kishori. As a professional singer I try and have interest in regular playback.
Tamanna, a listed artist of Bangladesh Television, has done stage programs in several countries outside the country, including stage shows in different parts of the country. Every year he performs stage shows in West Bengal, Assam, Tripura states of India. Tamannaah Haque is a very popular singer there. In addition to India, Tamanna has enthralled expatriate Bengalis with songs by performing stage shows in the United Arab Emirates and Europe, France and Italy.
Lakshmipur’s daughter Tamanna Haque said, as a singer, I like to sing all kinds of songs. But folk songs attract me more. I also like to sing folk songs. Moreover, I can directly enjoy the love of the audience by singing folk songs in the stage shows of the country and abroad. As a vocalist, I want to sing the Bengali songs of my country in the stage shows abroad and present the map of Bangladesh high in the world court.
