Kuwait sent back the largest number of expatriates in its history in 2023. Kuwaiti authorities said they were sent back to their respective countries for violating local laws.
According to the sources of the country’s Ministry of Interior, from January 1 to December 31, 2023, Kuwait sent back a total of 42 thousand 892 expatriates from different countries. Among them there are 25 thousand 191 males and 17 thousand 701 females.
Of the repatriated expatriates, 42,265 were administratively repatriated; Among them 24 thousand 609 men and 17 thousand 656 women.
The remaining 627 have been sent back as per judicial rules. 582 men and 45 women among the repatriated expatriates in this process.
Proactive measures and campaigns by Kuwaiti security agencies have been reported to have played a major role in the significant increase in the number of repatriated expatriates. These initiatives were conducted under the direction and supervision of Sheikh Talal Al Khaled, the country’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
According to sources, the Kuwaiti government is currently giving importance to the implementation of the residency law and other regulations. For this reason, expatriates have been requested to strictly follow all the laws of the country.
