Dr. Major General Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering Affairs, recently commended the General Department of Community Happiness for their exceptional efforts, outstanding initiatives, and successful events in achieving an impressive 94.7% on the strategic indicator for community happiness.
Maj. Gen. Al Obaidly made these remarks during an annual inspection of the General Department of Community Happiness, where he was accompanied by Major General Ahmad Rafie, Assistant Commandant for Administrative Affairs at Dubai Police; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police; Dr Brigadier Saleh Al Hamrani, Deputy Director of the General Department for Excellence and Pioneering; Dr Brigadier Ahmed Yousef Al Mansouri, Deputy Director of the General Department of Community Happiness, and several senior officers and employees.

During the inspection, Maj. Gen. Al Obaidly was briefed on the impressive performance indicators of the General Department of Community Happiness for 2023, which included a remarkable 94.7% achievement on the strategic indicator for community happiness and an outstanding 97.7% public trust in Dubai Police’s published news.
Moreover, the Department achieved a remarkable community satisfaction rate of 94.3% with Dubai Police being a socially-responsible institution. Additionally, the satisfaction rate in information dissemination reached an impressive 95.2%, while the satisfaction rate among Dubai Police’s social media followers reached 95.2%.
Healthy Place to Work
Maj. Gen. Al Obaidly reviewed the remarkable achievements of Dubai Police’s Rehabilitation and Readiness Enhancement Centre (R4), particularly their groundbreaking accomplishment as the first police force in the world to receive the ‘Healthy Place to Work’ accreditation from Healthy Place To Work®. This recognition was granted after fulfilling all requirements concerning maintaining a healthy environment that promotes employee mental and physical health, as well as productivity, equity, and organizational effectiveness. Notably, Dubai Police scored a staggering 91% on the assessment survey, outperforming the other applicants.
This award reflects the keenness of Dubai Police toward creating the best work environment for all personnel that enables them to serve their country and community in a motivating, healthy work environment that ensures providing a high level of safety and security services which leads to achieving community happiness.
578 Medals
He also reviewed the Sports Affairs Department’s achievements, managing 21 sports teams with 446 athletes. Dubai Police’s sports teams have secured 578 medals in various local, regional, and international championships over the last three sports seasons. Among these teams, the cycling team stood out with 285 achievements in the past three years, including winning the President of the UAE Cup for Cycling and topping the overall ranking in the UAE League (team category) for the last two sports seasons.

Regarding institutional accomplishments, Dubai Police also secured first place in the Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament and the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award in the “Sports Excellence” category in its sixth edition. They also received the Sports Excellence Shield and the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Women’s Sports 2023 for the “Best Creative Sports Initiative” category.

Maj. Gen. Al Obaidly was also briefed on the public’s interaction with the media content posted on Dubai Police’s social media accounts, which showed a significant rise in 2021 compared to 2022. The total number of views for social media content, including news and videos, across all Dubai Police accounts reached an impressive 122,806,203 views in 2022.
54 MoUs
Maj. Gen. Al Obaidly was also briefed on the statistics of Dubai Police’s Community Relations Department for 2021. During that period, Dubai Police signed 54 memoranda of understanding with partners from diverse sectors such as security, services, administration, traffic, etc. This marked a significant increase compared to the 37 agreements signed in 2022. Additionally, Dubai Police actively participated in 34 exhibitions during the current year, a notable increase from the 17 exhibitions in 2022.
Furthermore, the Marketing Section executed several impactful marketing campaigns throughout the year, which included the World Police Summit, Hemaya Clip, Smart Police Stations, Police Eye, UAE SWAT Challenge, Policeman in Your Neighbourhood, Sail Safely, and various others.
Positive Spirit Initiative
Maj. Gen. Al Obaidly was also briefed on the results of the Positive Spirit Initiative from the previous year, which included carrying out 155 events benefiting 69,096 participants. Meanwhile, the Positive Spirit Initiative organised 242 events, benefitting 97,197 people during the current year.
Honouring the Distinguished
At the end of the meeting, Maj. Gen. Al Obaidly honoured three community members who displayed exceptional dedication to volunteering in the various events organized by Dubai Police, namely Mrs. Aisha Ali Mohammed, Mr. Nasser Ammar Ahmed, and Mr. Mohammed Kamal Mohammed. They were recognized for their unwavering commitment to volunteering across different initiatives throughout Dubai.
This gesture reflects Dubai Police’s continuous efforts to acknowledge and appreciate the positive contributions of individuals of diverse backgrounds while promoting volunteerism within the community.
