Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has been named the winner of the Middle East Technology Excellence Awards 2023 in the Smart City – Government category, for the Smart Parking Inspection System project.
The award is given to government entities that have shown outstanding achievements in information and communications technology (ICT), transport, and sustainability.
Impact of Using Artificial Intelligence
RTA has incorporated artificial intelligence (AI) into its parking inspection system. The system is equipped with advanced sensors, cameras, and software, which monitors the vehicles in parking zones. The AI technologies have been customized to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of parking inspections and automate the entire process.
Technologies in use include analysing big data of vehicle license plate numbers using smart digital cameras known for their high efficiency and accuracy. AI in this area doubled the inspection rate of vehicles inspected to 300%.
