Dan Halutz, the former head of the Israeli Defense Forces, has commented that Israel has already lost the ongoing war with Hamas in Gaza. He said Israel has lost the war against Hamas. Victory can only be achieved if Netanyahu resigns now.
He said this recently during a discussion with anti-government protesters in Haifa, Israel’s third largest city.
The country’s government has yet to respond to Dan Halutz’s statement. However, many Israelis applauded his statement, Channel 14 reported.
It is known that Israel launched the operation in Gaza in the last 81 days. None of them was achieved by the Israeli forces. 162 Israeli soldiers have been killed so far in the ground operation in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently said that the operation in Gaza will continue until the goal of eliminating Hamas is achieved.
Backing Netanyahu’s statement, the country’s army chief, Harji Halevi, said he had assessed the situation in Gaza and the war would continue for several months.
Meanwhile, Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra said in a statement that since October 7, 20,915 people have been killed and 54,918 injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza.
The report also said that in the last 24 hours, 241 people were killed and 382 injured in the Israeli attack on Gaza.
On the other hand, the Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society said in a separate statement that at least 55 people were detained by Israeli forces in raids in the West Bank last night. And since October 7, the total number of arrests by Israeli forces has reached 4,785.
Prisoner rights groups said Israel carried out raids in the occupied West Bank, including Nablus, Tubas and Tulkarem.
