The President met with the President of Serbia and discussed with him the relations between the two countries, developments in the region and their consequences for regional and international security.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (may God protect him) and the President of the Republic of Serbia, His Highness Aleksandar Fucic, reviewed the ongoing developments in the region, in the shadow of military tensions, and their serious consequences for security and the regional and international spheres.
The meeting was held with His Highness Aleksandar Fucic, the President of the Republic of Serbia, who is in the country on a working visit.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed Iran’s continued terrorist attacks targeting civilians, civilian installations and infrastructure against the UAE and countries in the region, as a violation of the sovereignty of these countries and international law. His Excellency Aleksandar Fucic reiterated his solidarity with the UAE and its full support for all measures taken to ensure the security, stability and safety of its territory and citizens, and condemned the attack.
Both sides stressed the need for an immediate cessation of escalating military activity, engaging in sincere dialogue, and seeking diplomatic solutions to resolve the problems in the region in order to maintain security and stability and avoid further tensions and crises.
During the meeting, His Excellency the President and the President of Serbia, while reviewing various aspects of cooperation and joint work between the two countries, expressed their willingness to advance each other in their respective development priorities and work that will bring mutual benefits and prosperity to the peoples, within the framework of the comprehensive strategic and economic partnership between the two countries.
His Excellency the President of Serbia arrived in the country earlier, where he was received by His Excellency the President and a number of senior members, ministers and officials.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Council for Personal Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President, and several officials were present at the meeting.
