After a brief suspension of all flights to and from Dubai, the situation is gradually returning to normal. In this context, Dubai-based airline Emirates confirmed that it will resume operating its flight schedule to Dubai on a limited basis from 10 am.
Dubai Media Office said that as a precautionary measure, it has announced the phased resumption of certain flights from Dubai International Airport to certain destinations after the temporary suspension. Travelers are advised to contact their airlines for the latest flight updates.
After briefly suspending all flights to and from Dubai due to a drone-related incident, Emirates also confirmed that it will operate its flight schedule to Dubai for a limited period after 10 am and urged passengers not to proceed to the airport until further notice.
Emirates said that all passengers affected by the temporary suspension will be notified of the cancellation and instructed on their repatriation options.
The updates come as a drone-related incident hit a fuel tank near the airport and caught fire.
The Dubai Media Office (DMO) quoted the Civil Defence team as saying that the situation was under control, with the fire not spreading, which was successfully brought under control.
No casualties were reported as a result of the drone-related incident. Some DXB flights were diverted to Al Maktoum Airport.
Dubai Police said that traffic on Airport Street and the Airport Tunnel was temporarily closed, with motorists advised to use alternative routes. The Al Garhoud Bridge leading to Casablanca Street was also closed.
The incident came as the United States, Israel and Iran entered the 17th day of a standoff that has not yet been resolved since February 28, 2026.
On March 11, two drones crashed near Dubai International Airport (DXB), but there was no impact on air traffic at the international hub.
However, three people, two Ghanaian citizens and a Bangladeshi, were slightly injured when the drones fell. An Indian citizen was also moderately injured.
