Relatives of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, Palestine protested by entering the Israeli parliament. A group of hostages’ relatives staged a protest during a parliamentary committee session at the Knesset in Jerusalem on Monday .
At this time, they demanded the lawmakers to strengthen efforts to free their loved ones. The move by about 20 protesters in the fourth month of the Gaza war is indicative of growing anti-war sentiment in Israel.
They took this step out of anger because the Israeli government failed to arrange the release of the hostages even after three and a half months. However, on the pretext of rescuing hostages and eliminating Hamas in the besieged Gaza Strip, the Zionist country has been continuing its aggression since October 7 of last year.
A woman held a photo of her three relatives held hostage in Gaza during a protest in parliament on Monday (January 22). He raised various slogans demanding the quick rescue of the hostages’ relatives. In November, Israel extended the ceasefire in phases and released some hostages. However, Hamas still holds about 130 hostages in Gaza.
During the discussion of the finance committee in the Knesset, the woman called for the release of her relatives. He is seen crying at this time. “I just want them back alive,” he said through tears.
Other protesters wearing black t-shirts were also seen holding posters with various demands. One can be seen holding a poster reading “You can’t sit here if they die there”. “Free them now, now, now” they chanted. At that time some protestors were arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, media reports claim that Egypt, Qatar and the US are working on a new Israeli hostage release deal with Hamas. However, the deal is unlikely to see the light of day. Because Israel has declared that the war will continue until Hamas is eliminated from the Valley.
And Hamas has ruled out the release of all senior Palestinian citizens held in Israeli prisons and the release of hostages until Israeli troops withdraw from Gaza. Meanwhile, at least 27 of the hostages held by Hamas have lost their lives.
It should be noted that on October 7, the fighters of the Palestinian independence group Hamas killed 1,200 people and captured more than 250 people in Gaza by attacking the southern part of Israel.
