The New York Police Department is going to revoke former President Donald Trump’s gun license. A senior police officer gave this information on Wednesday.
Trump’s permit to carry a firearm was suspended in April 2023 following the filing of criminal charges. He owned three registered pistols. The two pistols were turned over to the New York Police Department on March 31, 2023. The other weapon is ‘transferred to Florida pursuant to legal process’.
On May 30, 34 criminal charges were found against Trump. Under US law, persons charged with such charges are not allowed to carry firearms.
That is, if Trump still stores the pistol at his Florida residence, it would be considered a violation of the law.
A senior police official said the New York Police Department’s legal department will conduct an investigation, after which Trump’s license “will most likely be revoked.”
