A US military official announced on Tuesday that he was resigning in protest at Washington’s support for Israel’s aggression in Gaza. The army officer’s name is Harrison Mann. He is an officer in the US military’s Defense Intelligence Agency.
In his resignation letter published on LinkedIn, the official wrote, the unconditional support of the United States to Israel has pushed thousands of innocent Palestinians to death and starvation. Harrison Mann has announced his resignation out of shame and guilt over his blind support for Israel against the Palestinians. He also alleged that the conflict in Gaza is at risk of prolonging due to the unyielding support of the US administration.
This is not the first time the resignation has been blamed on US involvement in the Israeli massacre in Gaza. Earlier last month, Hala Raharit, the Arabic language spokesperson of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, resigned in opposition to the US’s Gaza policy. He himself confirmed his resignation on LinkedIn at the time.
Before this, US State Department Human Rights Officer Anelle Shelin resigned in March in protest of US President Joe Biden’s Gaza policy. The Middle East analyst was also responsible for human rights advocacy for the US government.
