After releasing its own version of ChatGTP, Elon Musk is now bringing the technology to the market with Xmail. Not only that, but before entering the market, Musk’s company X Corp has given the impression of a tough competition with Google’s globally popular email service Gmail.
In a conversation on his social media platform X, Elon Musk also confirmed the launch of his new email service. He said, a service called ‘Xmail’ is coming very soon.
The announcement comes after social media networks recently faced rumors of Google shutting down Gmail after a fake photo started circulating. Elon Musk, however, did not provide many details about the upcoming service, so it remains unknown when it will be accessible. But it is also expected to be added to the X app soon.
Recently, a senior member of X’s security engineering team named Nathan McGrady made a post on his platform, where he asked the question, when is Xmail launching? In response to his post, the owner Mask wrote, “Exmail will be launched soon.” There is going to be a huge boom in the email service sector.
On the same post, an X user commented, I have lost faith in Gmail. It’s time to switch to XML as soon as possible.
Incidentally, the most popular email service in the world at the moment is Gmail. It has 1.8 billion active users worldwide.
A social media strategist named Rhea Freeman said that X version of Gmail could come. And if that’s true, it’ll be interesting to see how Gmail takes over. Elon Musk bought Twitter and made huge changes. He doesn’t seem to have the public opinion on his side, so it remains to be seen whether people will trust X with their email management.
Meanwhile, Google announced on Friday at X that Gmail is not shutting down. They have changed the default Gmail interface, which was previously ‘basic HTML’, to a new and more colorful one. This change was first implemented in January 2024.
