The government of Saudi Arabia has warned tourists and residents to refrain from performing Hajj without permission.
According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, it is illegal to perform Hajj without permission. Those who break the law will be fined 50 thousand riyals.Even those caught transporting unauthorized persons to Makkah will be fined 50,000 Riyals.
On the other hand, expatriates who violate the law and perform Hajj without permission will be sentenced to six months in prison. After serving their sentences, they will be deported back to their home countries and banned from entering Saudi Arabia for the next 10 years.
Every year millions of people from different countries of the world go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. Apart from this, Saudi locals also perform Hajj.
Hajj may start on June 14 this year subject to moon sighting. As there are no corona restrictions, millions of people will gather in the holy city of Mecca to perform Hajj like last year.
