Kuwait has decided to reduce working hours around the holy month of Ramadan. The government of the country has announced to reduce the working time to 4 hours for the workers.
Apart from this, there will be two ‘grace periods’. According to the decision of the Kuwaiti government, working women will get two grace periods every day at their respective workplaces. They can take 15 minutes at the beginning of work and another at the end of work. On the other hand, male workers will get a grace period at the beginning of the job.
Apart from this, a maximum of two hours and a minimum of one hour have been fixed for permissible partial absence during the month of Ramadan.
Salah Khaled Al Saqabi, assistant secretary of the financial and administrative department, said, “Employees will receive a good amount of bonus money in Ramadan considering their performance.”
However, various government departments will have the opportunity to schedule shifts and office hours as per their requirements.
The holy month of Ramadan may begin in the Middle East on March 11. As such, less than a month is left for the start of this holy month. As a result, preparations for Ramadan have already started.
