Pakistan has deployed warships for security in the Arabian Sea. According to the Pakistan Navy, the country took this decision due to the uncertainty about the security of the sea route.
In a statement on behalf of the Navy, it is said that this patrol has been started to strictly monitor the security of communication and trade in the international sea area. Moreover, this warship patrol has been started to ensure the safety of Pakistan and international trade ships.
The statement also said that two to three Pakistani warships will be on guard at all times to ensure the safe passage of Pakistan-bound and international trade ships, and extensive surveillance measures will be taken from the air.
The country announced the deployment of warships mainly after attacks on Indian merchant ships in the Arabian Sea. After this decision was informed by Pakistan. Incidentally, the country made this announcement after an armed attack on an Indian ship in Liberia on the evening of January 2.
Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi group launched missiles and direct attacks on Israeli-bound ships as well as commercial ships in protest against Israel’s attacks on Palestine after the start of the war in Palestine. As a result, many international shipping companies, including MARKS, have reduced shipping through the Arabian and Red Seas.
