Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has threatened to sever diplomatic relations with the United States. He said that Russia will take this decision if the assets seized due to the war in Ukraine are confiscated.
Ryabkov said, the United States must not take any action out of disillusionment. They should not think that Russia is willing to maintain diplomatic relations with them.
After the start of the Ukraine war, Western countries, including the United States, have been imposing sanctions on various Russian institutions and people close to Russian President Vladimir Putin one after another.
As part of the sanctions, the assets of related individuals and entities located in the United States are frozen. Demands have been made to use these resources for the reconstruction of war-torn Ukraine. Recently several European countries confiscated some of Russia’s assets. In such a situation, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister gave this warning.
Meanwhile, President Putin has announced to spend 157 billion (15 thousand 7 billion) dollars on the war in Ukraine and Russia’s security next year. Russia’s military spending next year will be the highest since the Cold War. And it will be 70 percent more than the current year’s expenditure.
