A total of 71 countries conducted research on more than 400,000 people. The top 10 unhappiest countries are:
1) Uzbekistan
2) United Kingdom
3) South Africa
4) Brazil
5) Tajikistan
6) Australia
7) Egypt
8) Ireland
9) Iraq
10) Yemen
India is at number 11, Pakistan is at number 16 respectively. Bangladesh is ranked 18 among the most unhappy countries.
The Dominican Republic ranks first among the happiest countries. Sri Lanka is in second place, despite being plagued by financial crisis. The United States is at number 29.
Sapien Labs in the United States has been conducting research on mental health since 2020. The study found that the mental health of people around the world is deteriorating due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, wars in various countries, and the global economic downturn.
This year, it can be seen that mental health has deteriorated the most among people under the age of 35. Meanwhile, those over 65 did not have any mental health problems.
The study also found that eating more processed foods and using smartphones for the first time increased the risk of mental health deterioration.
People from several African and Latin American countries are found to be happier. On the other hand, the mental health of people in Western countries, such as the United Kingdom and Australia, is at the bottom.
