Family visa is going to be re-opened in Kuwait after being closed for a long time. However, the previous rules are no longer there. The country’s Ministry of Home Affairs is making changes to the family visa law.
Expatriates can apply for family visa from January 28.
This decision was taken under the guidance of Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior.
Previously, family visa could be applied only if the salary was 800 Kuwaiti dinars. But that is no longer possible. Under the new rules, a minimum salary of 800 Kuwaiti dinars and a university degree are required to get a family visa. Along with that, the educational qualification should match with the job.
This law is to regulate population structure in Kuwait. Which will allow only those family members who have high income and provide a satisfactory standard of living to their family.
