Father Kenneth lived alone at home with his two-year-old son, Bronson. His father took care of everything from feeding the little baby. Because Bronson’s mother had a fight with Sarah PC, they lived in separate houses. Kenneth died of a sudden heart attack, followed by the tragic death of his infant son from starvation.
The bodies of the two were recovered in Lincolnshire on January 9. The body was recovered by the police 14 days after the two were last seen. The incident took place in Skegness, a seaside town in Lincolnshire, England.
It is learned that child services workers used to visit the child once a month. As part of that, a worker visited the child’s home on January 2. He contacted his father on December 27 before coming home. After coming home on January 2, after finding no response from them, the staff of the organization started to inquire about the child’s whereabouts. Two days later, he again came to the house in search of the child; Even then, not getting any response, he informed the police about the matter.
Meanwhile, the worker entered the house by taking the key from the owner of the house. Later he saw the child lying dead next to the father. He said that his body was bent due to lack of food and water. On the other hand, the child’s mother said that she last met her child before Christmas. He was living separately because of a problem with the child’s father.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: ‘Police were made aware of the incident in Skegness at 3.25pm on January 9. An investigation into the incident has been completed and the death is not being treated as suspicious. Even after that, the activities of the involved organizations will be analyzed, he said, adding that nothing more can be said now.
Postmortem results showed Bronson died of dehydration and starvation. PC identified her son saying ‘I couldn’t pick him up, because his body was so fragile, I could only touch him’.
The dead boy’s sister, Melanie Battersby, paid tribute to Bronson on Facebook, writing, ‘The beautiful little boy deserved so much better than this life. We love Bronson, he will be in our hearts forever’. The baby’s father, Kenneth Battersby, was reportedly unemployed and had a poor heart condition. And before death he had severe jaundice.
