When millions of people around the world, especially in Western countries, celebrate the birth of Jesus, the question arises how Muslims see the Virgin Mary and her son Jesus or Jesus or Prophet Jesus?
Jesus has the largest number of followers worldwide. After that, Muslims are in the second position. The mother of their Prophet Jesus is so important to Islam that a surah in the Koran is named after ‘Maryam’. She is the only woman mentioned by name in the Muslim holy books. Surah number 19 out of 114 surahs of the Quran is named after the woman.
Jackie Saritoprak, professor of theology and Islamic studies at John’s University, in the United States, wrote “Mary in Islam” on the Oxford Bibliographies website.
I remember being impressed by the way he spoke of Maryam when I interviewed Ahmad Mahir Sabiq, the spokesperson for Muslim Welfare House in London, in 2008.
Ahmed Mahir Sabiq said, “When we mention Maryam’s name we add the phrase ‘Alayhi wa Sallam’, which means ‘peace be upon her.’
“Maryam is a woman highly respected by Muslims and those who do not respect her are not considered Muslims,” he said.
According to Muslims, the Quran was revealed six centuries after the birth of Prophet Jesus. God (Allah in Islam) then revealed the Qur’an to Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam, through the angel Gabriel (Angel Gabriel in Christianity).
According to Christianity and Islam, Gabriel or Gabriel first informed Mary or Miriam that she was pregnant.
According to Islamic literature, Mary’s name is mentioned more times than any other member of the Prophet Muhammad’s family in the Qur’an.
According to Mahir Sabiq, the main significance of Maryam in Islam is that she was the mother of Prophet Jesus. For Muslims, Prophet Jesus was—like Abraham, Moses, Muhammad—a prophet of God.
Like Christianity, Islam believes that the conception of Jesus was a miracle.
This event is described in Surah Al Imran where Mary is given the “good news”, saying that she will be the mother of one who will be the Messiah or Messenger of God. Maryam’s response to this is found in verse 47 of the Qur’an.
“O God! How can I have children even though no man has touched me?” Later, in the Surah of the Prophets, Mary’s chastity is emphasized:
“And Mary is one who preserved her virginity, then I breathed into her My Spirit and made her and her son a sign for all the worlds.”
The power of one
Although both religions praise Mary, there are some important differences in the stories about the mother of Jesus. Prophet Yusuf (Joseph in Christianity) is nowhere mentioned in Islam, whereas Mary was Joseph’s betrothed according to the Christian scriptures, the Bible.
On the other hand, according to Islam, the mother of Prophet Jesus was unmarried i.e. a virgin when she became pregnant.
As Mahir Sabiq explains, Maryam decided to move away from her family and her community so that she could give birth alone under the shade of a palm tree.
The birth of Prophet Jesus is described in verses 22 to 25 of Surah Maryam in the Qur’an. “Then she conceived a child and went to a secluded place. In labor pains she was forced to take refuge under a palm tree. In labor pains she said: ‘If only I had died before this and had completely disappeared from the memory of men!'”
“Then the angel called to him from below saying, Do not grieve. Your Lord has made a canal under your feet.”
“You shake the trunk of a palm tree towards you, and it will drop fresh, ripe dates in front of you.”
A woman’s courage
According to Saritoprak, another aspect of Mary’s importance in Islam is that some verses of the Qur’an refer to the Prophet Jesus as the “son of Mary”. Although there are many women in the history of Islam who are admired by Muslims. Such as Prophet Muhammad’s wives and daughters.
Mary was a role model for many of them. A young Muslim woman named Asma Rezki told Saritoprak in 2008.
Rezki told her, “Maryam, of all women in the world, was chosen by God to be the mother of His Prophet. She is a symbol of purity and an example of submission to God.
The mother of Prophet Jesus is also an example of patience and courage for Muslims. Because when she returned to her community, Maryam was questioned, as described in the verses of Surah Maryam.
“Then she appeared before her people with her child in her arms. They said: O Mary, you have done an accident. O sister of Aaron! Your father was not a dishonest person and your mother was not an adulteress.”
According to the Qur’an, Prophet Jesus, despite being a newborn, spoke: “I am the servant of Allah. He gave me the Book and made me a prophet.”
“The Prophet Jesus plays a special role in the Islamic tradition and is often regarded as the most important prophet after Muhammad,” notes Robert Schedinger, professor of Luther College, USA, on Jesus on the Oxford Bibliography website.
Schedinger said, “I’ve noticed that when I talk to Muslims primarily, when they mention the name of the Prophet Muhammad, they pronounce his name with the word sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam, or “May peace be upon him.
They do the same when they talk about Prophet Jesus.
South American indigenous groups and Mary South are very big groups, boys Jesus and my Mary name is also very much in the political world.
worship
Islam and Liq religion explain Mary and her son. There major inconsistencies have been cleared up.
For Catholics, the Virgin Mary is the Mother of God and the God Jesus or the Son of God manifested in the person. For regulars, Yusa is not God. Therefore, Mary is not the mother of God.
In Islam, neither Mary nor Jesus is seen as the judge of God. To say they were human – not to pray or ask for the God of Islam.
“We believe that preaching can help us in this life and the next, He is Allah (God) so we worship others?
“Prophet Jesus is mentioned 25 times in the Qur’an, describing him as a miracle given by God. … described as a prophet of peace.
“Prophecy of Prophet Jesus repeatedly said that Muhammad and therefore can go to the early answerer of Islam,” Palestinian Institute Tarif Khadi noted on the portal “Muslims Qatali Qatlishu”.
portrait
Various depictions of Mary appear in Catholic churches and on the homes, vehicles, and clothing of Christians.
One thing the Catholic Church is talking about is that my image will not be worshiped when they pray to me as a church of faith. They also insist that in their supplications to me they seek his intercession to pray to the true God. Mistry of the Holy Trinity explains this explanation.
In Islam, there is no prohibition through pictures or portraits on any wiki. This is why there are no pictures of people in mosques. There are writings in mosques and calligraphy.
The Sunni sect of Islam also finds any portrayal of Mary offensive. However, much of Asia (sanctioning Islam) is quite flexible about displaying images of Islamic figures.

game inconsistency
Catholicism and Islam distinguish between Jesus/Jesus or the Prophet or Isa, who is referred to as a man in Islam and is called the Son of God or God.
As well as the way he deals with death, religion has different interpretations.
In Islamic tradition, Tashu or New Jesus is crucified.
Verses 157 and 158 of the Qur’an state:
”Although: we Mary they said to the brave that I believed Uniwissa, they could believe they could not do the truth or cross. And those who conceived of it, were skeptical about it, having no knowledge of what it actually was. And it is certain that they did not confirm him
“But presenting him to myself. Allah is Mighty and Wise.
Such differences peace peace Jesus is a favorite of Islam because he is a teacher and spiritual.
But don’t celebrate your birthday or Christmas. The origins of Catholicism stem from Islam’s deep reverence for Mary and Jesus.
With many members, it is one of the best bridges to establish dialogue between countries.
