A Chinese couple has been sentenced to death for throwing their two children out of a window to start a new marriage. After this incident, there was a storm of criticism throughout China. They also demanded a strict trial.
China’s Supreme Court sentenced Zhang Bo and his lover Ye Chengcheng to death for abandoning two children. Two years after the execution, they died by injection on Wednesday.
In 2020, Zhang Tai threw two children from the window of a 15-story building. His lover was to force him to kill the two children.
Zhang had a two-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son. He saw his two children as an obstacle in building a new relationship with his lover. That’s why he decided to kill them.
According to the New York Post report, Zhang kept his marriage and two children a secret and entered into a new relationship. Later, Zhang divorced his wife, Chen Meilin, in February 2020 due to her lover. Later pressure came from lover Ye Chengcheng to kill the two children.
Zhang told police he was asleep when the children fell from the window. Later he woke up hearing the screams of people. The children’s mother said she was shocked to hear what happened to them.
“I can’t express my feelings when I heard the news that our two children were thrown from a 15-storey building by their father and his lover,” he said.
