An elderly patient is taken to the morgue after being declared dead in San Jose, Brazil. A few hours later, when a hospital worker went to bring the body for cremation, he found the old woman alive. However, a day later, the woman died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
On November 25, the doctor declared the 90-year-old Norma Silvera da Silva dead. He fell ill on November 24 and was admitted to the hospital.
Norma’s friend Jessica Martins Sylvie Pereira said that Norma’s death certificate was issued from the hospital at 11:40 pm on November 25. It is mentioned that he died of urinary tract infection.
He also said that a mortician went to fetch Norma’s body at around 1:30 am. Going there, it can be seen that Norma’s body is hot. After the body bag is opened, Norma is seen breathing slowly.
Later he was quickly taken from the morgue to the hospital. However, Norma died last Monday (November 27) morning. Jessica Martins claims her girlfriend struggled to death inside the body bag for nearly 2 hours. However, it is not clear whether Norma died due to lack of timely treatment or hospital mismanagement.
Meanwhile, the state government has started an investigation into the incident. Besides, Norma’s family is planning to sue the hospital.
